Tûranor PlanetSolar is the world's largest solar-powered boat also known as the PlanetSolar. It was built in Germany and launched on March 31 2010. The length of the boat is 31 meters and it was covered by the solar panel of around 500 sq meters, which generates 93kw of power. Each hull contains 2 electric motors which are connected to the solar panels. The capacity of this boat is 200 persons. The Maximum speed of this boat is 14 knots. The cost for constructing this boat is €15 million, because the cost of solar panel itself is very huge. It is a luxury yacht. The first journey of this boat started on September 2010. It is the first boat to travel across the globe. 115 Swiss catamaran travelled 2,867 miles (5,310 kilometers) across the Atlantic ocean in 22 days. The boat which has a record of the fastest crossing of the Atlantic Ocean by solar boat.
