Happy Diwali - Diwali Celebrations

We wish you a Happy Diwali. May this Diwali brings you a good hope, good health and extreme happiness. Whenever you hear the word "Diwali", what is the first thing that comes in your mind.

Somebody will say "Shopping" discounts. Few others will say "Sweets". Some other would say "Burning Crackers". Kids would say "New clothes to wear". Decorators would say "Diyas". Yes we celebrate with all these.

Earlier days people start preparation a month before Diwali by purchasing new clothes, Crackers etc.

Greeting will be floating from places to place via post as well as via e-mails.

It is a get together festival which brings the relatives and neighbours closer.

Many of our houses, we could see the tradition is still continuing. This Tradition is in South India

1. Rangoli at the front of our house/Building with a wish

2. Getting up early in the morning. Many would woke up at 5 to 6

3. Applying oil in head after a wish from our parents early in the morning.

4. Hot shower which relaxes our body

5. Aplying turmeric and Kunkum in the new clothes and get it from elders after touching their feet.       After wearing the new clothes, we will eat some sweets which elders would prepared couple of days before

6. Wishes from relatives over phone will make us happier

7. Start burning different type of Crackers. Many have many stories in burning the crackers. Many have the experience to keep a cracker under a stone or buch of papers and see them how it burst out. Some would keep it in a mud and burst them. Enjoying different kinds of crackers is an ultimate fun for kids and everyone.

8. People go to temple early in the morning and have a darshan

9. During the mid-day of Diwali, people go out for movies or beaches or some relatives house.

10. Exchange of sweets with neighbours and relatives and enjoying with them the night show (That is the sky crackers) along with Diyas.

Consuming Diwali Lahiyam is the best practise.

Share the way you have celebrated your Diwali. Once again wish you a happy diwali.
