ICC T20 World Cup 2024 - Match 8 - IND vs IR summary

**Amit:** Hey Shahul, did you catch the India vs. Ireland match yesterday?

**Shahul:** Oh yes, I did! What a game! India's fast bowlers were absolutely on fire. Ireland was bowled out for just 96 runs in 16 overs. It was quite a sight.

**Amit:** I know, right? Arshdeep Singh was brilliant, taking out both Irish openers in the third over after Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to bowl first. That really set the tone for the match.

**Shahul:** Absolutely. And then Hardik Pandya came in and got a wicket in the seventh over, followed by Jasprit Bumrah striking in the ninth. The Irish batting order just kept collapsing from there.

**Amit:** Pandya was amazing, adding two more wickets to his tally. And how about Axar Patel? He bowled just one over of spin but made it count with a brilliant catch to take a wicket.

**Shahul:** That was a fantastic moment. Bumrah, as always, was sensational. He got his second wicket with a classic yorker, dismissing Josh Little and ending the highest partnership of the innings for Ireland, which was just 27 runs.

**Amit:** The innings ended with a mix-up and a run out, which summed up Ireland's day. Pandya finished with figures of 3/27, while Arshdeep had 2/35. Siraj was economical too, with 1/13 in his three overs, and Axar with 1/3 in that single over. But Bumrah's figures of 2/6 in three overs were just outstanding.

**Shahul:** Yeah, Bumrah was definitely the standout bowler. Then it was India's turn to bat. Virat Kohli opened with Rohit Sharma but unfortunately, he fell for just one run in five balls.

**Amit:** That was a bit of a letdown, but Rohit carried on with Rishabh Pant. Rohit was solid, scoring 52 off 37 balls before retiring hurt.

**Shahul:** Pant was brilliant in finishing the match. He stayed unbeaten on 36 off 26 balls and ended it with a reverse scoop six! They wrapped up the chase in just 12.2 overs and won by eight wickets.

**Amit:** It was a dominating performance by India, both with the ball and the bat. Hopefully, they keep this momentum going in the upcoming matches.

**Shahul:** Absolutely! It was a pleasure watching them play like this. Can't wait for the next game!
