The first stadium in the world to use solar energy is Kaohsiung National Stadium in Taiwan. In Kaohsiung, Taiwan, there is a multi-use stadium. In terms of seating, it is also referred to as Taiwan's biggest stadium. The stadium was created by renowned Japanese architect Toyo Ito, who specialises in conceptual architecture. Since it was constructed in 2009, a lot of sporting events have been held there. It is the perfect example of how to use alternative energy effectively (Solar Energy). It has a 55000-person capacity and is semi-spherical in form. It features 8844 solar panels, which have supplied electricity to 3300 lights and 2 enormous vision displays.
It also goes by the name "dragon shape stadium." It covers around 19 hectares in size. It is regarded as a green area and boasts lovely green pavement. The use of solar energy has averted the emission of carbon dioxide at this stadium, which would have required more energy and produced 660 tonnes of CO2. Taiwan's government will use a small portion of the stadium's electricity during non-game times for nearby homes or businesses. It cost around $150 million to build. In the modern world, energy use has increased, and scarcity has resulted from unintended use.
The world needs to grasp Toyo's use of solar energy in his design and thought in order to better utilise natural resources for the welfare of the country.
