Greetings on International Women's Day. We'll glance at a few global government initiatives for women's empowerment in this article.
Pacific Women Lead (Australia):
In order to ensure that Pacific women and girls, in all of their variety, are secure and fairly share resources, opportunities, and decision-making with men and boys, Australia's regional gender programme called Pacific Women Lead was established.
The programme emphasizes women's leadership, women's rights, and boosting the efficacy of local efforts to promote gender equality. The money for the initiative is additional to and complementary to Australia's bilateral investments in gender.
Women Entrepreneurship Fund (Canada):
Through the Women Entrepreneurship Strategy, the Canadian government is dedicated to promoting gender equity, women's economic empowerment, and supporting women entrepreneurs. The Canadian government provided $20 million in Budget 2018 for the Women Entrepreneurship Fund to support more than 200 programmes. Due to the high demand for support from the Women Entrepreneurship Fund, an additional $10 million was invested to finance about 100 additional applicants, $2.5 million of whom were Indigenous women business owners. With this extra investment, the government is now giving women-owned and -led businesses across Canada a total of $30 million to help them expand and tap into new markets.
FCDO Work and Opportunities for Women (UK):
The UN High Level Panel on Women's Economic Empowerment's Action Plan is supported by the WOW Fund (UNHLP). The £1.8 million Fund helps a small number of well-chosen, strategic projects that support sustained change in women's economic empowerment.
The Fund enhances the broader initiatives of the WOW programme, which works closely with international supply chains and HMG initiatives to promote better outcomes for women's economic empowerment (WEE).
Working Mother's Child Relief (Singapore):
Working mothers who are married, divorced, or widowed are eligible to receive the Working Mother's Child Relief at a rate of 15% of their earned income for their first child, 20% for their second child, and 25% for their third and subsequent children, up to a limit of 100% of their earned income. Your kid must be a citizen of Singapore.
Each kid may only receive a maximum of $50,000 in Qualifying Child Relief, Handicapped Child Relief, and Working Mother's Child Relief claims.
Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Scheme (India):
The Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Scheme, introduced on January 22, 2015, by the Prime Minister of India in Haryana, ensures the survival, protection, and education of girl children. The programme aims to address issues related to the recent decline in the gender ratio, raise public awareness, and improve the effectiveness of welfare services designed for girls.
