Rathri - Night
Navarathri is the festival of godess durga. In North india it has called as 'Durga Pooja'.
These nine nights are splited into three and are dedicated to goddess shakthi, Lakshmi, Saraswathi form of goddess Durga.
People in south india arranged the idols of goddess in their homes and chanting mantras of devi.
Navarathri is the largest festival in india. It has been celebrated with famous garba dance.
The arrangement of idols of godess is called Golu in Tamil. It has certain procedure to arrange those idols. The arrangement should be in 5 steps, 7 steps, 11 ... . On those Nine days people in south india invite their relatives, Friends, Colegues to their home to see golu and ask them to sing a devotional song. Atlast people give sweets/Savories to those relatives, Friends, Colegues and also give a blouse bit. This Tradition of Celebrating Navarathri has been followed till now from earlier years.
